I have recently changed computers and now my program no longer syncs.
You will need to re-install the application on your new PC. If the program is still installed on your handheld device, you will not be prompted for your serial number when you re-install the product. If you are prompted for your serial number, you will need to use the serial number that was sent to you when you originally registered the product.
Can I install the sotware on a Memory Card?
Yes, the program can be installed on a memory card. When you first run the Installer, you will be asked "Do you want to install this application in the Default Directory?" Click "No", and then chose the card onto which you would like to install the application.
Does the software work on a Mac?
Yes, we do have a version that will work with a Macintosh computer (Mac OS X with Internet connection required). Please go to our free trial download page.
I purchased the product but never received my serial number.
Your serial number was displayed when the registration email was sent to the email address you provided when registering for this product. Either you accidentally entered in the wrong email address, or there is an issue with your mailbox account (too full, your mail server is having problems, etc.) To check your email address, please go to the ‘Account’ section of your web library. On the ‘Account’ page, click on ‘email’ in the ‘Modify’ section. If the current email is incorrect, change your email. To have your email resent, click on ‘Get Serial Number’ in the ‘Software Set Up’ section of the ‘Account’ page.
If you still don't receive your email, we recommend sending the serial number to a different email address.
Will the software program work on other PDAs like Psion or Linux?
No BMJ Clinical Evidence on Unbound Central will only work with Pocket PC or Palm OS handheld devices.
Where can I download the latest version of the PDA software?
You can download the latest Unbound Central software for the PDA. To do so:
- Log in to your Unbound Central account at http://www.unboundmedicine.com/unbound
- Click on the ‘Account’ link
- Click on 'Download Software', then follow the on screen instructions to install the software.
How long will it take to download the software?
Download is estimated to take about 3 minutes on broadband and about 30 minutes on 56k Dialup.

Will your program work with Palm OS 5.0?
Palm OS 5.0 is a supported platform for our application.
When I open a record I get a message saying the record is missing, your handheld may be out of memory or the Hot Sync didn't complete?
Not enough memory on your Handheld
The memory requirements for this product are found in the
system requirements section.
To check that you have adequate space available:
1. From the handheld's Start Menu, choose 'Settings', then 'System', then 'Memory'. Check that you have the required 'Storage' memory. Some devices will permit you to move the memory slider to increase available Storage memory.
To free additional space on your handheld:
1. From the handheld's Start Menu, choose 'Settings', then 'Remove Programs'.
2. Tap on the Program you would like to delete and then tap 'Remove'.
How do I delete your application from the Palm?
If you would like to remove Unbound Central from your Palm, follow these steps:
- From the home screen of your Palm, click on the menu icon (located below the Home icon)
- When the Menu appears, choose ‘Delete...’.
- Select ‘Unbound Central’ and click on the ‘ Delete...’ button
- When prompted confirm the deletion.
How do I install Unbound Central to my Palm Memory Card?
If your Palm device has a memory card, you will be given a choice of installing it to the card or to the main memory of your device.
How do I install software onto the Pocket PC Memory card?
Yes, the program can be installed on a memory card. When you first run the Installer, you will be asked "Do you want to install this application in the Default Directory?" Click "No", and then chose the card onto which you would like to install the application.
Will your program work with Pocket PC 2003?
Yes, our program will work with Pocket PC 2000, 2002, 2003, 2003 Second Edition Pocket (Windows Mobile Pocket PC). It will not work with Windows, Mobile enabled for mobile telephones.
How do I uninstall Unbound Central from my Pocket PC?
If you would like to remove Unbound Central from your Pocket PC, please follow thesesteps:
- Click ‘Start’ and select ‘Settings’ from the menu
- From there open the tab called ‘System’
- Click on the ‘Remove Programs’ icon
- Highlight the first instance of Unbound Central and click "Remove"
- Notice that there are two instances of Unbound Central loaded on your Pocket PC. This is because one instance is the application and the other is the content/data. You will have to remove both of these instances in order to remove Unbound Central completely.

HotSync Log (Palm users only)
- Please send us a copy of your HotSync log. To do so, view your log by right clicking on the HotSync icon and selecting "View Log...". The HotSync icon is a red & blue circular arrow located on the windows tray bar on the bottom right hand side of your PC window. Copy and paste the text of the log in the email you send to
